Service Description
We might all have used one, day in day out, but Tachographs still hold some mysteries to most professional drivers, but fear not, attending this course will explain how to use the tachograph, when to do a manual entry, how to make changes, what to do when things go wrong, double driving, POA, Spilt Rest ....... need we go on? This 3.5 hour course includes: Introduction to the two types of tachographs (analogue and digital) Analogue tachographs Manual entries Mode selection Centre field entries Responsibilities Digital tachographs Requirement to use the driver card Requirements for calibration, correct slots, to carry sufficient print rolls and to make the information available to employers Explanation and description of what must be available to enforcement officers Correct use of mode switch Procedures for lost or stolen cards Universal Time Coordinated Manual entries Operator responsibilities Different cards Explanation of pictograms Example of how to operate the vehicle unit Examples of the range of penalties and fines applicable to tachographs Practical exercise. Candidates are shown examples of tachographs with infringements and asked to write down the infringements they find. This is run as a group exercise with each candidate using their own course manual. The course also includes numerous film presentations, practical exercises and confirmation of learning quizzes.
